Citrus Fruits
Citrus fruits, including oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits, are valued for their tangy flavor, high vitamin C content, and refreshing aroma. They are grown from Citrus species, which thrive in tropical and subtropical climates with plenty of sunlight. Citrus plants prefer well-drained sandy loam or loamy soils rich in organic matter, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.0). The ideal temperature for their growth ranges from 20°C to 30°C, and they require moderate, evenly distributed rainfall or irrigation, especially during flowering and fruiting. Proper spacing, pruning, and fertilization are important for healthy canopy development and high-quality fruits. Citrus trees are sensitive to waterlogging, frost, and extreme cold, so protection from harsh weather is essential. With careful management of soil, water, and nutrients, citrus orchards can produce abundant, juicy, and flavorful fruits.
